VirtualBox: How to change the UUID of Virtual Disk (vdi)

May 6th, 2009 Copying the image of Virtual Disk (.vdi file) is a convenient way to duplicate the disk, in cases you want to avoid re-installing an operating system from scratch.

However, simply copying the .vdi file into another location will make a verbatim copy of the virtual disk, including the UUID of the disk. If you try to add the copy in the Virtual Media Manager, you will get an error like this:

In this case, you have to do the following:

UUID changed to: 9e89fe14-d010-469e-a737-cd65218c4acb

Since the old UUID is replaced with a new one, you can now add and use the virtual disk.

Please note, that you wouldn't have to follow this procedure if you had used the clonevdi function to copy the virtual disk image, in the first place. The clonevdi function makes sure that the new disk image will have its own unique UUID.

The syntax of the clonedvi goes like this:

$ VBoxManage clonevdi Master.vdi Clone.vdi

Huawei u8300(Spriiin) port Adrenalin 2.3.2 Beta

rom เก่าเป็น Android 2.1 update1, กะจะเอามาใช้งาน net 3G และ MAP
แต่เจอปัญหาเรื่องกินแบตเลยต้องหาอะไรเล่นแทน ไปเจอการ port Android 2.3.2 แล้วรู้สึกเปลี่ยน
ความคิดไปเลยเรื่องกินแบตไม่มีเลย change ไฟก็เร็ว ของเก่าถ้า change ไปเล่น อย่างไงก็ไม่เต็ม
... 2.3.2 ก็ยังมาปัญหานะ แต่ที่ไม่เข้าใจคือ ขนาดผมลองทำเล่นๆ 2 วันก็ออกแล้ว แล้วทำไมศูนย์ไม่ทำ ROM ตัวใหม่มาแจกให้ download กันก็ไม่รู้

สามารถ backup โปรแกรม Spriiing ด้วย Titanium Backup ใน rom 2.1 แล้วมา restore บน 2.3.2 ได้ไม่มีปัญหา

วิธีทำเข้าไปอ่านในนี้ ถ้ามีเวลาแล้วจะ อัด VDO แบบ step-by step ให้ครับ

How to install:
assuming that u put adrenalin.zip into the root of your sdcard
1 Root your phone with z4root
2 Install clockworkmod recovery from ROMmanager app from the market
3 When rommanager ask for the type of phone choose "Huawei ascend" (suggested 3.0.0.5)
4 Reboot in recovery mode and do a full backup of your current ROM
5 When finished choose install .zip from sdcard
6 Choose Adrenalin ad go on with the process
7 After that the installation finished go to advanced option and choose "Fix permissions"
8 Reboot and enter gingerbread.

To revert back to you rom:
1 Reboot into recovery
2 Choose restore and choose your backup

Sqlite driver not load

เป็นเพราะว่าโปแกรมที่รันหา Driver ไม่เจอ มันอยู่ที่นี่ "C:\Qt\2010.05\qt\plugins\sqldrivers"
copy ทั้ง folder "sqldrivers" และวางทั้ง Folder ไว้ที่เดียวกันกับโปรแกรม

2-3 วันที่ผ่านมา ผมนั่งกลุ้มกับเครื่องคอมฯ ผม เนื่องจากว่า
ไอเจ้า language bar มันหายไปจาก Taskbar
มันก็เลยทำให้การพิมพ์คอมช้าไปประมาณ 20%
เพราะไม่มี language bar ให้ดูว่าพิมพ์ภาษาไรอยู่
เอาแหละพูดมาเยอะละ มาดูวิธีแก้กันเลยดีกว่า

ให้เปิด Explorer ค้นว่า ctfmon.exe อยู่ตรงไหน
แล้วลองคลิกขวาเลือก Run as administrator
แล้ว Restart ว่ามาหรือไม่

ถ้า Restart แล้วยังไม่มามันก็คงจะเป็นที่ ctfmon.exe
ซึ่งมันเป็นไฟล์จัดการกับบางภาษา ซึ่งรวมถึงภาษาไทยด้วย

ดังนั้น ในกรณีที่ Restart แล้วหาย(เหมือนเครื่องผม) ก็อาจลองแก้ไขโดย
1. กดคีย์ Win พิมพ์ shell:startup เพื่อเปิดโฟลเดอร์นี้ขึ้น
2. คลิกขวาบนพื้นที่ว่างในโฟลเดอร์นี้ เลือก New >> Shortcut
เพื่อสร้างชอร์ตคัทใหม่ขึ้น และเลือกไปที่ไฟล์ ctfmon.exe นี้
3. Restart

How to manually install a service in Windows

Step 1: Uninstall the old version (if applicable)

First go "programs" -> "admin tools" -> "services".

Find the exact name of the service by finding it in the name column. Lets say the name of the service you want to uninstall is oldservice. Now bring up a console window so that you can make use of the utility sc or service control that comes with most new versions of windows. If you do not have it, you can get it for free in the "platform SDK". Bring up a console window with "start" -> "run", then type "cmd" and hit enter. Use the following syntax remove the existing service named, oldservice.
Step 2: Install the new service

First you need to know the full path of the .exe file for the service. Lets say its c:\hdas\collectorservice.exe. If you were going to install that binary executable as a service named collector you would use the following syntax. Note the space between the "=" and the start of the path.
Step 3: Configure the user credentials the service runs with

Refresh the service list. Find the newly installed service, right click on it, and select "properties". On the "Log On" tab the user the service runs as can be changed. You must provide the password for the account to be used. One strange thing is what you have to do to select the user from a list instead of typing it in. From the "Log On" tab, hit "This Account", then "browse". Then from that dialog hit "Advanced". From there select your domain name or local computer from the locations area by hitting the "Locations" button. After all that, hit "Find Now". Finally a list of users to pick from comes up. Here is what it looks like on my laptop.
Step 4: Configure the service for automatic start and restart

Get back to the properties of the service dialog. On the general tab select the startup type to "automatic". Then under the "recovery" tab set it to just keep restarting.

Now you can start the service by either restarting the computer or hitting "start" in the "general" tab.
